Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she was only five years old her family moved to Oxfordshire and went to an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided that she wanted to make it as an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she studied singing and acting. By the time she turned 10 Emma took part in a variety of Stagecoach productions, as well as school productions. The casting process began in 1999 with the casting process for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Agents for casting found Emma by way of her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint of their auditions after eight. They were selected as three of the leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film role was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The movie broke all records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket revenue, making it the top-grossing 2001 film. The film was praised by critics and the performance of three acclaimed young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's acting "amazing". Emma won the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the Feature Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her work in the film.
